Wicca
Is a Nature religion and the worship of Divinity as containing both feminine and masculine aspects. It's founded upon the spiritual roots of pre-Christian European beliefs and practices. Gerald Gardner brought Wicca to public attention in the early 1950's. We live by a philosophy of tolerance for the beliefs and practices of others. We seek to live in harmony with our community and our environment. Ours is also called the Craft of the Wise. Wicca is an Anglo-Saxon word meaning Witch.
Wicce is Old English for "female sorceress."

Moon Magic
We believe the Moon emanates magical powers. The new moon aids in new ventures, beginnings and achieving goals. This energy is amplified by the phases of the moon until she (the Moon) becomes full.
The Full moon marks the highest and most concentrated energies. When the moon is in Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn it is most powerfull in working with the supernatural. Love and friendship related spells are most powerfull when the Moon is in Aries, Leo and Sagitarius. If working with hexing, binding spells or crossing, you will be most successful when the moon is Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces.
In ancient literature, Moon magic is associated with the Goddesses Hecate and Diana among others.

Terms to know:
ELEMENTALS~mystical creatures that dwell in each elemental realm; earth, air, fire, water.
DEOSIL~"clockwise" this directed motion represents the journey of the sun. Also called sunwise. All movements within the circle move in this direction.
WIDDERSHINS~ "counter clockwise" It is customary to close down the magickal circle by going in this direction. This movement evokes energies that take away or diminish other forms of energy. As in hexing or binding.
